Unlike the U.S. or the United Kingdom (or is it Untied Kingdom?) Switzerland has a far more diverse series of political parties. But as so much in Switzerland is decided by referendum, taking on populist right wing movements has been a tough challenge. But the liberal grassroots movement Operation Libero has taken the fight to the populists, winning the argument in four important referenda. The following article (from the U.K. Guardian newspaper) gives an insight into how Operation Libero founder, Flavia Kleiner, has changed tactics to win the debate.
