Last week i wrote about a favourite bar tour along the Schanzengraben. This week i have another few waterside watering holes to share with you. What makes this particular bar tour unique is that, (at least for the first few locations,) you can use the fast flowing waters of the Limmat to propel you to the next bar.
If you don’t fancy getting wet then you can easily do this trip by foot and its a lovely walk along the Limmat. If you do fancy taking the plunge then you are going to need a waterproof bag, (for your clothes, wallet and phone,) like the one pictured.
Start at Cuchi am Wasser which is located next to the bridge between Platzspitz park and Dynamo. Remember, drinking and swimming can be a tricky mix so i recommend sticking to the soft drinks if you are swimming. Leap off the bridge and float along the Limmat.
You will pass the Panama and the Primitivo on your left and right respectively. You have to do this because we are going to hop out at the bottom and walk to Panana on the left hand side of the river. (You have to do this because it is a Stadt Zurich badi and they want to know who’s in there.)
Once you have enjoyed the Panama, walk back upstream and leap in again and swim across to the Primitivo. Enjoy a drink and try and decipher the tattoos that seem to be de rigeuer on this side of the river.
Jump back in and head down to the Stazione Paradiso on the right hand bank. If you are peckish i can strongly recommend the food there.
Now, we have to make a short walk to the Unterer Letten. This is an extraordinary place. A kind of cage that captures the flotsam and jetsam that floats down the Limmat i.e. you. Have a quick drink in the Flusssbar.

Hi, We are based in Oberhasli, Zurich, and are looking for somebody to sit a few hours with our cat. We are away between Thursday 14/04 and Monday 19/04, and don't want him to get lonely. If you would like to pay our cat company while reading a book, doing your home office, or would like to stay overnight, we and Ninja would be very happy. Price negotiable, email me [email protected], and help on only some days would be sufficient, since we will have somebody come and feed him daily anyways.
