Winter is settling in and with that, so is my appetite for melted, velvety, spicy liquid gold aka fondue. (Although I must admit i sometimes go for a cheeky summer fondue). Do you also want liquid cheese as dinner but you’re clueless of the gold’s whereabouts? Don't worry, I have you covered. I’m listing my favourite fondue places in Zurich. Let’s go!
This place is essentially a warm and cosy hut in the middle of the city. You get the full winter experience in this place, especially if it is snowy outside. Added bonus, after you’re finished, you can roll back down the mountain to the city with your belly full.
This historic joint perched on the Zürichberg is a traditional classic. If you like your fondue with spirit, go for the Stierblut fondue with Vacherin, Gruyère and lots of peperoncini. Bonus: you can pet rabbits.♥
This one is a small mountain hut in the inner courtyard of the Hotel Glockenhof, open between November and January. This teeny pop-up joint serves great fondue but you can also go for meat from a hot stone.
For over 100 years, Le Dézaley has been serving specialties from the French-speaking region of Switzerland. The owners are advocates of traditional home-style cooking. The traditional cheese fondue is prepared from ripe "sur choix" cheese from the region and is said to be famous all over the world.
Located in the middle of the forest, Wirtschaft Degenried is a hidden gem. If you dare to take the long way (10 min walk from the Dolderbahn), you may just be rewarded with the coziest atmosphere in Zurich
This rustic pub is one of my secret favorites. Why? Because they have caquelons (fondue pans) that are divided into three parts. So you can always try three kinds of fondue at the same time. Yes, sometimes more is more!
I’ll be honest: Fondue still tastes best at home. Slowly boiled, well stirred and, above all, with lots of wine and garlic in it... By the way, a favourite of mine is Zürifondue with Turicum Gin. In the end, it doesn't matter what you choose, the important thing is: don't drop the bread in the cheese and be sure to air out your room afterwards!
You all know i am a fan of brewed beverages, and kombucha is no exception. Especially when it is unfiltered, unpasteurized, organic, a 100% natural AND considered the best in the world . This small Swiss startup is turning the world of

I am a volunteer at PAFI, a small foundation in Switzerland that supports 200 children from an underprivileged community in Brazil to go to school and eat a warm meal per day. Recently, we fulfilled the children's dream of a sports field. To complete the project, install plumbing and buy sport equipment we are looking for some additional funding. Because we don't have any administrative costs, every cent benefits the children directly. Here is the link to the project: https://www.crowdify.net/de/projekt/sport-pausenplatz
Does anyone know organisations and foundations in Switzerland that we could contact to supporting our project?
I'm looking for people who have experienced living and working in the USA because I'm planning to live and work over there. Well, as it takes a lot of time I'd appreciate if you could give me some advice and thoughts.
