It’s that time of year again. Super Bowl LIII is upon us and gridiron fans are soiling themselves at the prospect of the Los Angeles Rams taking on the New England Patriots in a game of what I like to call, armoured rugby. But with the game being played in Atlanta the time delay means many venues will have closed their doors by kick off so I’ve come up with some bars that will staying up late to bring you Ronsters the big game. (If you are tagging along with friends but don't have the faintest idea what is going on in the game I've included this short guide...)
First Down is Kaiser Franz which resides close to the Langstrasse. To get you into the spirit of the event American beer and hot dogs will be served and you can reserve a seat. Get in there quick though…
Sun 23:00, Kaiser Franz, Rolandstrasse 22, 8004 Zürich
Second Down is Kater which is also a long punt from the Langstrasse. If you like NFL and rock muisc this place will probably suit you down to the ground and they are also serving, you guessed it, beer and hotdogs. Tables cannot be reserved so if you want the best seats get there early and get ready for a long night.
Sun 22:00, Kater, Kanonengasse 33, 8004 Zürich
Third Down is Le Calvados which sits serenely in the peaceful Idaplatz. With several big screens it’s a great place to watch sport and tables can be reserved on their website. Don’t be surprised if a hot dog or two is served alongside good and bad american beer. (They said it, not me.) Be warned about the crazy side betting.
Sun 22:00, Le Calvados Am Idaplatz 4,8003 Zürich
Fourth Down is the Big Ben Westside which is located near to the Hardbrucke. They are going to show the game and are doing a special offer on…you guessed it…chicken wings. Fooled you, not a hot dog in sight.
Sun 22:00, Big Ben Pub Westside, Hardstrasse 234, 8005 Zürich
Finally, the punt, and if you don’t feel like you’ve been punted when the game ends at 4am you are a better man than I. Nelsons Pub hosts the official party of the Zürich renegades so you will be in the company of those that play and actually know whats going on in the game. (If you are in doubt watch the video above.) It’s probably going to be busy so making a reservation is recommended.
Sun 20:00, Nelsons Pub, Beatengasse 11, 8001 Zürich
Bear in mind that the kick off is at 18:30 Eastern Time which puts the kick off here in Zürich at an exhaustingly late 00:30. Pace yourself and buy some matches to prop your eyes open on Monday. Enjoy the game Ronsters.
I've told you before but another warning can't hurt. Fraudsters are active on all housing platforms in Switzerland. Also on my pages. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that all offers are genuine. I do my best to blacklist any i catch but

Hi, We are based in Oberhasli, Zurich, and are looking for somebody to sit a few hours with our cat. We are away between Thursday 14/04 and Monday 19/04, and don't want him to get lonely. If you would like to pay our cat company while reading a book, doing your home office, or would like to stay overnight, we and Ninja would be very happy. Price negotiable, email me [email protected], and help on only some days would be sufficient, since we will have somebody come and feed him daily anyways.
