Good to know: Election weekend

This weekend, the Swissies have a say on various matters, of those I believe that there are two thatcould matter to you: Public media and Zurich Council. No Billag: This initiative aims at scrapping the mandatory licence fee for services of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). This actually also includes swissinfo.ch where i (and most likely you too) get my english fix of local news. The proposal has lost ground over the last few weeks, but never know until after the poll. Council: This weekend we vote on our city and cantonal council. More than 1'000 people cast their name. But even though there are so many to choose from, no large surprised are axpected here. The decision is up to the majority as usual and you'll find the results from Sunday (after the poll) in the Swiss press or on swissinfo.
