Good Morning Ronster

I write this with a heavy heart as i have been horrified by the events in the US over the past few days. I live in hope that the untimely death of George Floyd will provide a trigger, not just the US, but for the whole of the world to stamp out the scourge of racism and discrimination but in the mean time i stand shoulder to shoulder with those, of every gender, skin colour or sexual orientation to rid the world of these injustices. I know i can count on you Ronsters too. Please have a voice, no matter how small and…

Audiolicious: Time To Harvest The Sound

Over the past few month i must have seen hundreds of live streaming gigs but the relaxation of lockdown measures means that bands can finally perform in the same room. Soundfarm Studios have set up their «Safe and Sound» festival and are live streaming 3 acts on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. It’s also free but if you want to make a voluntary donation you can.

Shopping tip: Hello Velo

Yesterday was World Bicycle Day and if you don’t own a bike you may have been feeling a little bit left out. This weekend Pro Velo Zurich can help you get a new set of wheels or maybe upgrade the old set with the first Velöborse in ages. Good luck finding that dream set of wheels.

Web tip: Art Attack

I love to check out art exhibitions and Switzerland has some pretty strong offerings, not just in Zurich but all over the country. Art O’Clock places the dates and information for Switzerlands exhibitions in one handy place and you can even get e mail alerts for when exhibitions are about to close.

Exhibition: Wow...just wow.

It’s so nice to write about something opening but it’s especially when it’s something fun like the WOW Museum. The museum, which is opening on Wednesday, boast 3 floors and 400 square meters of fun and interactive illusions. They are also offering 10% of tickets if you subscribe to their newsletter. Bear in mind it is only there for four days so get in early.

Eating: Brera-ing To Go

Have you heard about Brera? No? Well, it’s the newest, hippest Italian restaurant to open up in Zurich. The concept is simple: A small menu from fresh produce, served with love…and wine…and cocktails. But that’s not all. Music is the food of love and Brera are spinning funk and soul on vinyl. Get along and check it out.

Good to know: Switzerland At Your Fingertips

With all the uncertainty of «corona times» it has been nigh on impossible to plan a holiday. Fortunately Switzerland is a bit like a gigantic theme park with nature and topography as the rides. But...there is so much to see and do that it can be kind of overwhelming. Fortunately Swiss Mobility have come up with a fantastic app (for iOS and Android,) that shows not only hiking paths but also cycling, canoeing and even skating routes. Grab a bike at the Velobörse and get out there.
