Winter is here and if you're feeling the cold, i have some tips that will end your suffering, because i know some very nice and hot places in town. Here my list of the best saunas and hamams in Zurich.
One of the latest additions to the spa world in town is Hammam Basar at Seefeld. An exclusive traditional hamam wich also hosts couples nights.
Next to Langstrasse
Right next to, well actually under, Volkshaus you find the «Stadtbad mit Hammam und Spa», a hidden, oriental world. Here you can warm yourself up or just enjoy the stylish ambience.
The view of Zurich from the hot pool of «Thermalbad im Hürlimann-Areal» is unique. The Irish-Roman-Circuit i always find very enjoyable and i regularly hit my head while floating because i fall asleep.
At the lake The award for the very best view will remain at «Sauna am See». I'm sure there will never be one that can compete. The jump into the lake after the sauna is the best you can do for your immune system. Hot, cold, hot, cold - enjoy!
In the old town
The oasis in the old town was, at least i think, the first hamam in town. Here you find some peace and quiet, which might be needed at this time of the year. It's very popular - as it's part of Migros Fitness - so i recommend going there outside rush hour.
The largest Saunagarden of the city is hidden on Zürichberg, where properties are large and people are beautiful, as are the different suanas and steam bath. Definitely worth a visit.
On the hill
The Spa at Dolder is like a diamond within Zurich's spa-world. Designed by US-designer Sylvia Sepielli the spa includes several pools inside and outside, a sauna, a snow room and much more. Of course it also costs a bit more but it will be difficult to find more luxury in town.
On the other side of the hill
Atlantis, at the other end of the town, also opened a wonderful spa above Triemli last year. The generous pool- and sauna world is also open to the public, not just hotel guests. It costs a bit, but it's beautiful.
In deference to the day that Jesus headed home after some pretty rough treatment at the hands of us sinners there will be no newsletter next week. But don’t worry, i have a couple of tips here for stuff to check out in the next
2. Pop Up To Binz
There are more pop-ups in Zurich than at a Jack-in-a-box convention but it’s not always so easy to find one that is exciting but also reasonable in price. Enter Restaurant Zampano which will be opening its doors between 2nd of May
