HUB Event: Towards collaborative innovation

But what is the alternative? No rights at all? Especially in the realm of social entrepreneurship, many innovators face the tension of wanting to share everything freely and yet keep control over what they have created. How can this tension be mediated? Is there some middle ground? Apparently there is: Creative Commons (CC) have developed a legal and technical infrastructure to maximize digital creativity, sharing and innovation with “some rights reserved”. At this interactive Hub event, we’ll take a closer look at the story of CC. Philippe Perreaux, core team member of CC Switzerland and founder of the soon-to-be-launched music licensing platform rightclearing.com, will give us an overview about the thinking behind CC and share his personal experience regarding some of the tensions outlined above. We will then explore the question further in the context of social entrepreneurship and the collaborative practices of the Hub in particular. Michel Bachmann, co-founder of Hub Zürich and co-director of Hub Global, will share his personal insights on the latest developments in the broader Hub Network and pose the question of what we can learn from CC for the development of a truly collaborative innovation environment. Doors open at 19:00, the event starts at 19:30 (sharp). innovate4climate - Community and Pitching Event *Summer Edition*

Are you interested in creative startup ideas? Or do you want to know the newest climate innovations? On July 11, we’re meeting for the second innovate4climate event at the Impact Hub Zürich. A great way to welcome the newest members in the innovate4climate acceleration program and the newest climate entrepreneurship ideas. What is innovate4climate? Three to four times a year, innovate4climate (I4C) is looking for new, innovative business ideas fostering solutions to climate change. However, innovate4climate is more than that. It is a growing open innovation community extending from all corners of Switzerland. This event shall give this community an offline platform to come together, engage and exchange ideas. During the event, you will get to the success stories of two climate companies: one the one hand Rewinner who has gone through the 3 stages of innovate4climate and on the other hand myclimate – pioneer in the carbon offsetting market. The spotlight, however, will be put on the winners of the summer 2014 challenge of innovate4climate. They will pitch their ideas to the public. To round up the evening, after the pitches, you are invited to a climate-friendly apéro riche. We're looking forward to seeing you there :) The event is for free but please sign up for it!
