I’m sorry my dear vegetarian Ronsters, my eating out tips were all a bit heavy on the meat front lately. Again this week. But if you eat meat and came to love the Cordon bleu then I have to let you know about Getrudhof. From the outside the venue looks like your everyday Swiss restaurant, and the interior isn’t much better. But they serve more than a dozen different kinds of the traditional Swiss dish, one tasting better than the other. The staff is friendly and lovely and all portions come in three optional sizes. If you’re a group, you better book ahead. And next week, I’ll bring you a veggie suggestion.
Gertrudhof, Getrudstrasse 26, 8003. Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 11 am to 2 pm / 5.30 pm to 11 pm, Saturday 5 pm to 11 pm, Sunday 4 pm to 10 pm
Switzerland is full of surprises but if you have travelled to the Ticino by car the «perm-a-jam» at the Gotthard tunnel will not be one. Recently, in an attempt to avoid it i travelled along the Rhône valley which runs between

3. Ooki: All the way from Tokyo
Whenever a new Japanese restaurant opens somewhere, you can be sure that I’m not far behind. This new locale is called Ooki and serves gyoza, ramen, tempura, udon, Japanese curries and sake. The interior is very authentic, the
Bogen F has had some great gigs of late as they catch up with the (hopefully,) post covid backlog but they really do deserve a rest after a busy few months. Their last show before the summer break will be the amazing Australian/Ghanaian rapper, Genesis Owusu , who will be hitting the stage this Thursday . I love a funky, disco infused groove and if you do too then you’re going to dig Genesis .
Hi, We are based in Oberhasli, Zurich, and are looking for somebody to sit a few hours with our cat. We are away between Thursday 14/04 and Monday 19/04, and don't want him to get lonely. If you would like to pay our cat company while reading a book, doing your home office, or would like to stay overnight, we and Ninja would be very happy. Price negotiable, and help on only some days would be sufficient, since we will have somebody come and feed him daily anyways.
