I'm sure you heard the rumours that the Bernese are sometimes a bit slow. Well, I have to revise that when it comes to ice cream because the first Gelateria Di Berna was opened in the capital in 2010. Hence the name. Their branch in Zurich opened this May and I have to say, I'm upset to find out what I've been missing out on all these years.
In my opinion they truly offer the best ice-cream in town and I'm surprised that no one else came up with a similar concept. But at least they're finally here and I warmly welcome them to Kreis 3.
The prices are fair: 3.50 for two flavours are a refreshing bargain in this town. The ice cream is organic and from local ingredients, the staff is charming and the flavours change regularly.
I even go as far as to say: Their ice cream tastes so good that I forgive them for turning this little quiet oasis called Brupbacherplatz into the new square to be.
Just a warning: The stuff is addictive. So far I tried: Mint-chocolate, mango, rhubarb and hazelnut. And I'll be back for more.
