A couple of weeks ago Die Macherei opened its doors at Europaallee 109. I was curious so I paid them a visit. What I found was a small room that bears a lot of treasures without feeling crowded.
The designer pieces are made by ten different artists and their labels. From clothes to bags and from jewellery to furniture you find everything. Each designer has his or her own style so it's easy to place to their creators.
The ten heads behind Macherei see themselves as a collective that supports innovative and sustainable design as well as transparent and local production.
You won't find any sales staff, each person who'll help you is one of the ten designers. So you can ask them anything. Of course, they can tell the most interesting stories about their own pieces but that's just a reason to come back. I like that personal touch.

If your home is not quite there yet, you can create this feeling of «Kotona» by filling your home with Finnish handcrafted furniture and other home-items from the Suomi PopUp starting today. You also get to have a taste of Nordic cuisine with pasties and cinnamon rolls from the PopUp Café in the same location. You have to hurry though because the PopUp only runs for three days, until Saturday!
I am a volunteer at PAFI, a small foundation in Switzerland that supports 200 children from an underprivileged community in Brazil to go to school and eat a warm meal per day. Recently, we fulfilled the children's dream of a sports field. To complete the project, install plumbing and buy sport equipment we are looking for some additional funding. Because we don't have any administrative costs, every cent benefits the children directly. Here is the link to the project: https://www.crowdify.net/de/projekt/sport-pausenplatz
Does anyone know organisations and foundations in Switzerland that we could contact to supporting our project?
