Welcome to the hood Oskar. Finally a place where I can grab lunch and coffee when I'm done at the yoga studio next door!
Chez Oskar is a brilliant new addition to Altstetten. They just oppened four weeks ago, for now it's more of a grab and go place, because the construction work of the Labitzke Areal is still going on, but outside tables are definitely planed as soon as possible.
The oskar team is serving delicious (vegan) salad bowls with a house own tofu based dressing, smoothie bowls, sandwiches and sweets. Not to forget very good coffee (using beans from Café Noir), freshly squeezed orange juice and other attractive stuff! Freshly prepared in house!
An espresso for CHF 2.90, I mean - hello? Why wouldn't you want to try it? Come on, hop on your bike on a sunny day and grab something! Or in case you work in the area: they have a loalty card waiting for you to be filled! Thanks for brightening up Zurich-Altstetten!
So…this weekend will see yet another popular vote with Covid once again providing the issue and plenty of controversy. There are also some pretty important local issues that need to be ironed out which will affect the cities road users.
2. Brand New Second Hand
I'm currently redecorating my apartment and have been looking for unique furniture and pieces to make the «Ron Cave» my own. Fortunately Switzerland has tons of «Brockenhäuser», second hand shops where old furniture and beautiful
3. Gotta Matcha?
Ok, admittedly, the chocolate cake i wrote about a few weeks ago was rather rich and decadent. So this week i have come up with a healthier, but no less tasty dessert alternative. A super creamy cheesecake that doesn't need to be

1. A different perspective on breakfast
This is the shopping list that my flatmate Luki wrote on a post-it yesterday, which looks much the same as the lists of many other millenials. It took him three minutes to walk to the nearest shop, where he filled his basket,

2. Lucky Dumpling: Authentic Chinese
6 years ago we welcomed 'Dini Mueter' to the Langstrasse. This summer, the bar and restaurant underwent a refurbishment and just reopened its doors with a new concept and a new name. Well, actually the new name is also the concept: Lucky
3. Ooki: All the way from Tokyo
Whenever a new Japanese restaurant opens somewhere, you can be sure that I’m not far behind. This new locale is called Ooki and serves gyoza, ramen, tempura, udon, Japanese curries and sake. The interior is very authentic, the
It’s past the middle of January so we’ve reached the lowest point in the «Januarloch» and are crawling slowly and exhausted out the other side. And i have a few more give-aways to give you some energy for the final push. First up, three lucky Ronsters can win a copy of the amazing retro orange chair, (pictured.) which is from the Möbel Zürich shop in Kalkbreite. Hit the link and then hit «Schreib Mir» to let me know why you’d like to win. Secondly. Fancy yourself as a self-made Sauron forging a ring of power just to lose it to a hobbit? Then i have just the thing. I am giving away three ring making kits (value CHF 149) from Bishu . Hit the link and then hit «Schreib Mir» to let me know why you’d like to win.
I've just been refused entry to a cafe in Zurich because their Vaccine app doesn't recognise my UK vaccination certificate.
The owners of the app tell me there are no plans to fix this.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
