About two years ago, Chef Sommelier Aaron Jolley was looking for a new challenge. He launched his project Winyl Ist Eine Art – A London bar with a wine list inspired by live music and DJ sets.
With this concept, he appealed especially to the younger generation who are often less keen on learning about different origins of wine, but more interested in the consumption of beer, shots and gin and tonics. So that you can get a better idea of what Sommelier Aaron Jolley tried to achieve, we have broken it down for you below:
Prosecco is best enjoyed to pop music – similar to the sound made when the cork is popped off
A full-bodied Bordeaux wine pairs well with ‘’Soul’’ music
Pinot Noir – ‘’Smooth’’
Spicy wines – ‘’Reggae’’
Biodynamic unfiltered wines – ‘’Funk’’
Chablis wines – ‘’Classical’’
At the bar, you can order musical genres that fit accordingly with your drink and be inspired by multiple sensory stimuli. Music and wine are a perfect combination because music stimulates the auditory, while wine appeals to not only the taste but also to the smell and visual senses. There are two things in common: Finding a rare vinyl would a special moment for a seasoned DJ, like an exquisite wine would for a wine connoisseur.
Rooftop is our absolute favourite amongst the innovative Gastro concepts that are popping up around Zürich. A successful combination of great Pan-Asian inspired dishes, by far the most beautiful rooftop terrace in Zürich, and a seasoned cocktail culture to top it off. The trolley service is an original concept as well inspired from traditional Chinese restaurants.

3. Lucky Dumpling: Authentic Chinese
6 years ago we welcomed 'Dini Mueter' to the Langstrasse. This summer, the bar and restaurant underwent a refurbishment and just reopened its doors with a new concept and a new name. Well, actually the new name is also the concept: Lucky
It seems like every weekend a different club celebrates it’s birthday but this weekend should be a real hoot as the club Kauz , (look up the translation to get the joke,) celebrates it’s 6th birthday . As you would expect, there is a great line up of DJ’s with spectacular names. My favourites are «Drugface aka Thomas Von Party,» and the simply titled, «Knob.»
Does anyone know how to park at Albisgüetli car park. Is there a ticket machine, how do you use it, how much does it cost, and how long can you park for? I know there are ticket machines on the street outside, but I couldn’t understand how to buy a ticket.
