There is only one mountain that is female and coincidentally it is also known as the “Queen of the Mountains.” I am talking, of course, about the Rigi, the mountain that can be seen on the way to Luzern. Normally on a Sunday i can be seen forging my path across the alps but, on account of a ripping hangover, i had to do something slightly more sedate. Now i haven’t been to the Rigi for ages so i had forgotten just how impressive it is. The view from Rigi Kulm is one of the most extraordinary sights in a country of extraordinary sights and both the cable car ride (from Weggis) and the rack and pinion railway (from Vitznau and Arth-Goldau) are something to behold. Check the pictures. Once again, taken on my trip with no filter.
It’s cold out and winter is upon us so it is time for that most Swiss winter tradition, fondue. So i have come up with a few of my favourite locations around the city for this cheesy treat. Now, if you are a tourist or are new to fondue

3. A Trip Up The Sihl
I love the Sihl valley. In spite of its close proximity to the city it still feels rugged and remote. Let’s face it, all there is is a river and a railway line. But nothing makes a good walk better than knowing there is cold drink and a

I've just been refused entry to a cafe in Zurich because their Vaccine app doesn't recognise my UK vaccination certificate.
The owners of the app tell me there are no plans to fix this.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world. The educational system is rather weak, especially on the level of the vocational training there aren't many possibilities. Most children leave primary or secondary school and start working somewhere without a solid or even without any training at all.
During Covid-19 the situation became even worse. Schools are/were closed for about 18 months. Many children started to work during this period and will not return to school. Without reasonable training it will be very difficult to find a job where they can earn for themselves or their families in the future.
