Winter is most definitely here and the countdown to Christmas has begun. On your marks, get set…shop! But Christmas is not just an orgy of consumerism. It’s a time to meet friends, drink a few drinks and enjoy winds icy breath. Fortunately Christmas markets allow you to shop, socialise and get freezing cold, all at the same time. Here is a list of my favourite Zurich markets and a bonus one that is out of town.
This one has the benefit of being open until the cusp of Christmas. As you fall of the train empty handed, (men will know what i'm talking about,) pick up a gift from here rather than the local 24 hour gas station. But do it before 4pm! It also has the added bonus of the most crystal covered tree in the known universe.
Until 24th Dec. Sun - Weds, 11am - 9pm, Thurs - Sat, 11am - 22pm.
Finally, if you fancy getting out of town the Monastery at Einsiedlen provides the spectacular backdrop to their Christmas market. And as it sits at a higher elevation the increased likely hood of snow adds to the Christmassy ambience. But be warned, it’s only there until this Sunday, (5th Dec.)
Until 5th Dec, Thurs 11am - 7:30-pm, Fri & Sat 11am - 9pm, Sun 11am - 7:30pm

3. Ooki: All the way from Tokyo
Whenever a new Japanese restaurant opens somewhere, you can be sure that I’m not far behind. This new locale is called Ooki and serves gyoza, ramen, tempura, udon, Japanese curries and sake. The interior is very authentic, the
A while ago I saw the start of a discussion about fertility treatment in switzerland and how it compares to other countries. however, i cannot find that thread anymore so i thought i'll just ask again about different expriences.I know that the laws differ from one place to anotherand i assume the price too. a good friend of mine just tried her luck three times here in zurich and was now told that her chances had been better if she'd done it in spain or uk. does anyone know anything about this or has some advice?
