It's September and the mussel season has begun. At Seebad Enge they serve Moules et Frites for the next 30 days with the best view in town. We also have a newcomer on the block with a great reputation and various other venues have pulled out their pots and white wine to get started. Where to go? Here you'll find my six favourites.
Seebad Enge: Best view
Summer is finished - at least that's what everyone is telling me - and Seebad Enge transforms once again from a swimming area into a bistro. For 30 days the serve fresh Moules à l'italienne or à la crème with fries. Make a reservation! 19th September until Saturday 20th October, daily from 6.30 pm. Closed on Mondays, portions starting from 29.50 CHF.
Dani H.: All you can eat
I'm always suprised with what Dani H. and his team are able to whip up in their small kitchen. And now it's time again for their wonderful mussels, crispy fries, served with white wine. What else could you want? More of it? No problem - it's all you can eat. Places are limited so make sure you book ahead.

Piazza: In the hood
At Piazza on Idaplatz mussels are on the menu since the beginning of the month. The kitchen crew knows what to do, the venue is pretty, the location central... I'm sure you've been there before. If not, it's time to give it a go. Daily, closed on Monday, portions from 28.50 CHF
Les Halles: The classic
Les Halles is known for its Mediterranean cuisine and just celebrated its 20 year anniversary. Now, mussels are back on the card, and are as wonderful and super tasty as ever. Daily for lunch or from 6.30 pm, closed on Sunday, Portion 29 CHF
Brasserie Lipp: The fancy classic
Brasserie Lipp is the place in town for French cuisine and sea food and, of course, for mussels. If you fancy world class Moules et Frites combined with world class service then this is the address for you. Maybe also get a piece of lobster? Daily, also for lunch.
