There are two wild things i love about autumn. Dancing naked through the falling leaves and eating wild game. I’ll spare you my terrible dancing and hideous nakedness for now and give you some of my favourite tips for that extinction threatened species, the carnivore. But as i know many of you Ronsters won’t touch venison schnitzel with jus and spätzli or wild boar entrecôte there are also some great vegetarian autumn offerings included. I am already getting hungry just writing this!

The Gartenhof will be serving all the autumn classics until 12 November: from nüssli salad and spaetzli to red cabbage, wild boar entrecôte (always from Switzerland), saddle of venison or venison carpaccio. The saddle of venison is spectacularly flambéed at the table and served in two courses.
The game lovers among you know that the Au kitchen serves up clever and hearty dishes. Classics of venison, deer, wild boar and chamois are interpreted in a modern way and there is also a daily changing «lucky shot» from the hunters. Vegi and vegan dishes are also catered for - so go for it!
I love the Ziegelhütte on an autumn day and their tasty game specialities from Graubünden give you the perfect excuse to head over to Schwamendigen. Precede your visit with a romantic walk through the woods of the «Züriberg» or, perhaps more likely, walk off your over eating.
«Wild im Wild» the motto of Degenried translates to wild in the forest and give a perfect excuse for, (another,) excursion up the Zürichberg. Degenried serves classic game dishes, but also a fantastic veggie autumn plate with, i might add, the best sauce!
