Still looking for presents? Why not choose the obvious: Alcohol. To make it a bit more special, i asked J. B. Labat to recommend some Zurich spirits. Here are their suggestions:

Zurich local Roger Schmid brews this unique drink at Binz from the Chaga mushroom. I’m sure you know that this fungus grows on birch trees and though a parasite, has a healing effect. In Nordic countries, it’s been around as tea for centuries – and now available as a digestive.
Ron Juan & Tsyri Whisky (right in the picture above) Hans Erismann burns in the fourth generation at Eschenmosen/Bülach. Aside from traditional fruit brandies, he also produces rum and whiskey.
Rosy’s Gin (left in picture below) In Feldmeilen at the Lake of Zurich, retiree Hans Kunz brews Rosy’s Gin in his flat. Last year, «Tagesanzeiger» crowned his spirit as the best Zurich Gin.
Gents Vermouth & Café (right in the picture above) HG — our well know local tonic producer – also produces a wonderful vermouth. Few people know that he also make a wonderful coffee liquor in a very limited quantity.
ED’s Rum (left in picture below) The ingredients for this rum come from the world all over, but it’s bottled at J.B. Labat in Kreis 4. Their liquid addition to Zurich’s night life.
Hof Allenwinden (right in the picture above) Behind Üetliberg, at Kappel am Albis, Christa Falkensammer brews Gin on the basis of Kirsch with the addition of juniper and herbs. The result is unique and very, very good.
Switzerland is full of surprises but if you have travelled to the Ticino by car the «perm-a-jam» at the Gotthard tunnel will not be one. Recently, in an attempt to avoid it i travelled along the Rhône valley which runs between

Hi, We are based in Oberhasli, Zurich, and are looking for somebody to sit a few hours with our cat. We are away between Thursday 14/04 and Monday 19/04, and don't want him to get lonely. If you would like to pay our cat company while reading a book, doing your home office, or would like to stay overnight, we and Ninja would be very happy. Price negotiable, and help on only some days would be sufficient, since we will have somebody come and feed him daily anyways.
