Where the Wild Things Are

Have i ever told you why i like autumn? No? Take a seat while i tell you: Because i like the autumn specialities. Last week i told you about Moules & Frites, later in October i'll share my favourite venues for Metzgete and Vermicelles, but today i'm going wild about vension. And because joy grows when you share it, here's my recommendations for the best vension-venues in town in alphabetical order... if you're vegan or vegetarian — there are also some venues in the list that serve wonderful meat-free-dishes.  

Caduff’s Wine Loft



Beat Caduff  hunts with a passion and his standards for venison are very high. His meat comes from the best hunters and he serves everything the mountains offer during this season - from deer, chamois, grouse, stag to groundhog. Until 3rd November.

Café Boy

Café Boy wasn't on your radar so far? The restaurant close to Bullingerplatz offers classic seasonal dishes with a modern twist. And of course in autumn you'll find a daily changing offer of Swiss venison.

At Gartenhof you can order all autumn classics: From field salad, to spaetzle, red cabbage, boar entrecôte, roast saddle of venison to stag carpaccio.
