It’s cold out and winter is upon us so it is time for that most Swiss winter tradition, fondue. So i have come up with a few of my favourite locations around the city for this cheesy treat. Now, if you are a tourist or are new to fondue don’t let the locals fool you. There is no horrible penance to losing your bread such as the one pictured above.
Ahoy there! Yes, you can get nautical with Zurich’s own Fondue ship. The boat departs from Bürkliplatz and you can enjoy the twinkling lights of Zurich whilst consuming your bodyweight in cheese. Until 22nd March Departs Burkliplatz at 6:30pm
Fondue Alp are making their annual appearance at Grossmünster. Be wary, their website gives the impression that they also serve fondue in Europaalle but i happen to know this is not true. Having said that, i recommend trying their own mix. Amazing.
Don’t forget to bring oxygen as Chäsalp stands at a whopping 61702 cm above sea level. That’s high. Situated in the lovely Töbelhof it’s a great place to enjoy a fondue and work off the calories with the walk home.
To busy for the exhausting climb? Binz & Kunz are also offering fondue with a delicious truffle fondue accompanying the more traditional Appenzeller and Moité-Moité varieties. They also do a fondue Chinoise as well if you’ve visited every restaurant on the list can’t face cheese anymore.
A cable car ride is always a good precursor to a fondue and at Felsenegg you get just that. Take the train to Adliswil and ride up in Luftseilbahn Adliswil Felsenegg. A great way to impress if you have visitor that are new to the city.
You all know i am a fan of brewed beverages, and kombucha is no exception. Especially when it is unfiltered, unpasteurized, organic, a 100% natural AND considered the best in the world . This small Swiss startup is turning the world of

I am a volunteer at PAFI, a small foundation in Switzerland that supports 200 children from an underprivileged community in Brazil to go to school and eat a warm meal per day. Recently, we fulfilled the children's dream of a sports field. To complete the project, install plumbing and buy sport equipment we are looking for some additional funding. Because we don't have any administrative costs, every cent benefits the children directly. Here is the link to the project: https://www.crowdify.net/de/projekt/sport-pausenplatz
Does anyone know organisations and foundations in Switzerland that we could contact to supporting our project?
We are raising money to supply our fellow Anglican chaplaincy of Christ Church Kyiv with wind-up USB chargers, radios and torches. This will help them during the winter, especially as attacks to power infrastructure increase. Our aim is to buy 10 wind-up charging devices which can be shared among the most vulnerable members of the church congregation and wider community. Each device costs €20; we will buy as many as we can and any money leftover will be donated to the Bishop in Europe’s Advent appeal.
