Kin: Asian Test-Kitchen in Kreis 3

One evening i cycled towards Lochergut and almost crashed into a car, because the former «Chez Toi» caught my eye. The large letters in the window have gone, instead i spot some plants and the simple sign at the door states «Kin».  

A few hours later i take my seat at one of the long black tables enjoying a wonderful «Massamam Splash». 

«Nina and i wanted to open a restaurant where we would like to eat too», eyplains Rico after i delighted my palate with Gado Gado asparagus salad, miso salmon and matcha milk rice. The siblings made their dream come true by opening an Asian inspired locale. 

The menu reminds me of my last journey through Asia, a little bit of Thailand here, some Corea there and the curry transports me back to Chennai in India. 

«Kin» however is not Japanese or Thai but rather English, because the venue wants to be familiar. And also the food is not fully exotic. For Nina and Rico it's important to include as many seasonal and regional ingredients as possible. The sushi-rice for example, comes from Ticino. 

Eight main dishes and two desert are on the menu each evening and for lunch you'll find a daily changing Thai dish.
