Easter Eggs, Easter Egg Nog & More...

Phew! So many gigs, so many parties, so much to do. But what if you want to get up late and have someone cook for you? There is some great places to get brunch over the weekend so I have come up with 8 tips if you would rather spend Easter at a more sedate pace.

1. Salut Salon

It’s Easter so you’ve got to have eggs. And Salut Salon make fantastic eggs benedict. In fact they have five varieties of poached egg as well as fantastic omelettes and other brunch treats.

Eggs not your thing, but brunch is? The vegan pop-up restaurant Anoah is serving a plant-based brunch for the first time over Easter. Scrambled tofu, pancakes and bagels will make every brunch fan's heart beat faster. Click here for their menu.

Fancy an Easter egg nog? You can at Babette's! And on Saturday and Palm Sunday, they serve brunch at its best. And if you don't want to cook on Saturday evening either, the Plat du Jour is an organic dish from Aargau.

4. Nüni

Nüni in Altstetten serves the classics for Easter brunch: omelettes, scrambled eggs and 3-minute eggs. Classics are classics for a reason after all. Their brunch offering is complemented with Birchermüesli and pastries.

If you've never tried the Wipkinger Ofenei at Kafi Schnaps, the what better time is there than Easter? Whether it's the classic version with tomatoes, the «Rötel» with vegetables or the «Letten» with salmon - you’re in for a treat!

Fancy something more exotic? Eggs cooked are cooked oriental style at Bebek. My favourite: the fried eggs on spicy minced beef with yoghurt and pine nuts. Mmmmm…

7. La Brea

Let’s head south of the Border. During a holiday in Mexico, I discovered chilaquiles, tortilla chips in salsa with cheese and eggs. You can get a wonderful version of them at La Brea, along with other delicacies like huevos rancheros, pancakes and breakfast burritos.

8. Café du Bonheur

At Café du Bonheur the brunch menu is normally only offered on Saturdays and Sundays. But for Easter they are serving brunch from Thursday until Easter Monday. My Tip: The French toast is amazing.
