Good Morning Ronster

Good Morning Ronster

How did you enjoy Rooftop Day? The weather was amazing and although i was sweating like Donald Trump at Frauenstreik, i had the best time. Remember, it’s not too late to add photos with the hashtag #rooftopday.

After i got over the hangover from Rooftop Day i was busy sorting out tickets for a competition for you guys and have some important information if you plan on going for a swim during Züri Fäscht. Enjoy the festivities, have a great week end and…

So, the long wait is over and the Netflix hit series, Stranger Things, enters its third season. And what better way to celebrate than by binge watching the entire series with likeminded fans. On Thursday, Nachtseminar are going to show the entire third series. Anything else? They’re going to provide the popcorn and there’s an 80’s themed afterparty.

Party: Zurich Goes Bonkers

As a city, Zurich has a pretty packed social calendar but this Friday sees the start of one of the biggest events. Two and a half million people are expected in the city for Züri Fäscht with events, (way too many to list) happening all around the lake. Unfortunately their website, (although very comprehensive) is only in German but their map shows where everything is at. Have fun.

If you, like me, are a football fan then Karl der Grosse are screening the Women’s World Cup Final. As i write this, the U.S.A. will be playing either Netherlands or Sewden in the final on Sunday. Whoever makes it through, it’s sure to be a great match and some amazing sport.

Hats off to allblues.ch. They really do bring some incredible music to Zurich and this week the program at Theatre 11 is about as high class as it gets. Guess what? I have 2 x 2 sets of tickets to give away to either George Benson or The Beach Boys and one pair of tickets for Diana Krall. Click here to win.

Sunday - The amazing jazz singer Diana Krall appears at Theatre 11 with an all star band featuring tenor sax legend, Joe Lovano.

Tuesday - The Beach Boys. Do i really need to say anything about the Beach Boys?

Wednesday - George Benson. With ten Grammys, one of the greatest guitarists ever and sings like an angel.

Sun, Tues & Weds, 8pm, Theatre 11, Thurgauerstrasse 7, 8050

After Züri Fäscht you may be looking for something a bit more sedate for the beginning of the week. The tranquil surroundings of the old botanical gardens provides the backdrop for the Openair Litertur Festival Zurich, which will feature U.S. writers Deborah Feldman and Roxanne Gay as well as U.K. author Julian Barnes.

Monday - Sunday, Old Botanical Garden, Pelikanstrasse 40, 8001

Whilst Züri Fäscht is a great event and amazing fun i am aware that many of you Ronsters maybe daunted by the prospect of sharing the city with 2.5 million people. But where to go? The areas around the lake are going to be crazy. The obvious solution is to head away from the lake and use some of the swimming spots on the Limmat river but there is a caveat…
