Zurich (EN) : Zurich 29.09.2022: Gala, Glitter & Gluttony

Good Morning Ronster

October is around the corner, and let me tell you there is more to it than drinking beer in Bavaria. You can stay in Zurich instead and enjoy some folk music, fancy food, festivals and films ad finitum. If you want to head out, you can discover the city inside out by opening doors that are usually closed. And if you still want to party, I also got you covered with two out-of-the-ordinary options for your Saturday night. Intrigued yet? Scroll down to find out.

Give my love to the city

As the days get darker, we all can use easy ways to lighten up our hearts. For the first time ever, the English stand-up comedy gala will be sweeping you off your feet and get you rolling with laughter. The line-up looks more than promising: Peter Flanagan for dark and laid back comedy, Xavier Castells who has performed as the special guest of comedy giant Jim Gaffigan, Snjólaug Lúðvíksdóttir whose comedy is as intricate as his name and Jono Duffy, the TikTok sensation from the land of kangooroo’s. Get your tickets here for your perfect night out.

Concert: Folk In Bogen F

If stand-up is not your thing, i have another tip for you for your pre-weekend celebration eve (also called Thursday night). The British folk ban Skinny Lister is performing in the Viadukt’s very own concert hall, Bogen F. The five-headed band is on tour to celebrate the release of their latest album, «A Matter of Life & Love» which pays homage to all the greatest things in life. If you ask me, their music must be one of them! Click on the button for an instant uplift.

Festival: Give the Globe Some Love

This Friday and Saturday mark Climate Day, which means there will be loads of cool, quirky and fun initiatives nationwide including in Zürich, like a time travel opportunity to a climate-neutral Switzerland on Werdmühleplatz in the center, a clothing repair workshop by Patagonia and a movie night about drought in Europe at the Plaza Klub. You can also pledge to reduce your personal CO 2 footprint on the website, for example by eating less meat, taking the train when travelling in Europe, or doing more renting and less buying. The news about climate change can be so worrying so i think it’s pretty awesome to see that there are plenty ways to turn worries into action! What are you waiting for?

Nomads Zurich – who call themselves a couple of weirdos who are crazy about food – teamed up with Langstrasse’s favourite vegan restaurant SamSeS to open a vegan pop-up: Cafuné. They promiste not only to wow you with high-end vegan cuisine, but also to turnip the beet (you see what I did there?) with some jazz, funk and disco. Reservations this way.
