Sport: Ice Ice Baby

We are not even a month into the new year but the trend for this winter is becoming clear: ice swimming. For the past few days i’ve seen brave souls taking a dip in the Limmat or the lake in sub-zero temperatures. It's supposed to be good for the immune system (most viruses would choose to commit Hara-Kiri rather than put up with the cold,) and would certainly make you forget your hangover. Actually, maybe it’s not such a bad idea after all. Do you dare?

Eating: Ron's Delivery Surprise

If you are getting fed up with your own cooking i have a solution. I can provide a great, seasonal, regional and totally vegan, surprise menu which can be prepared in a few simple steps. As my cooking skills are somewhat patchy i have turned over chef duties to Barbara Jud from Chuchi Potpourri with a wine recommendation from Edvin Uncorked: A Swiss, vegan Pinot Noir from Graubünden’s very own Weingut Herman.

Order from here by 12pm on February 3rd and your three course, surprise menu will be couriered by bike, directly to you door. The cost of the menu is 65 Francs and as it’s my first attempt at being a food courier expect awesomeness. En Guete…

Good to know: Keep Hive Buzzing

I miss hitting the clubs on the weekends and, (and i know i’ve said this a gazillion times,) if we want them to survive the lockdowns we’ve got to give them some support. That said, Hive have come up with some fantastic merchandise that makes offering your support a pleasure. Prints, clothes and even Hive Gin are all on offer on their Hive support site. Do your bit and buy some stuff and get the gin down your neck...even Bernie's joining in.

Eating: Food From Beyond The Kosmos

So, once again you’re working at home in your underwear, you realise you have only eaten cornflakes and pasta for three days and you haven’t set foot outside the house. It’s time to open the door and face the world before the lockdown bug really sets in. So head down to Kosmos where the cooks of their (closed) restaurant are creating delicious goulash and barley soup and a vegan vegetable curry. A stroll to their courtyard and some great food to eat «dihei», all at a reasonable price.
