The Lord of the Rings - in Concert: The Fellowship of the Ring | 12.12.2019
“One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them. One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.” These words from J. R. R. Tolkien’s famous three-part epic The Lord of the Rings has sparked the imagination of millions of fans for decades. Now The Fellowship of the Ring, the first part of the trilogy, is to be transformed into an unforgettable concert experience. A large symphony orchestra will be joined by a choir and soloists to perform the stirring Oscar- and Grammy Award-winning music together live, synchronised with the film on screen. You can experience this unique screening of the original film with German subtitles, with music performed for the first time by a live symphony orchestra, on 12 December 2019 at the Hallenstadion in Zurich.
In The Fellowship of the Ring Frodo Baggins, a hobbit from Middle Earth, a realm of magic and myths, is entrusted with a ring and gets caught up on the frontlines of a war of colossal proportions. This is a tale full of risk and adventure, but, most importantly, is also about how the power of friendship and courage can hold even the destructive forces of darkness at bay.
The Fellowship of the Ring was released in a breath-taking film adaptation in 2001, as the first instalment in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and was the biggest and most expensive film production of all time. Film score composer Howard Shore created the music, giving the spectacular film a grandiose symphonic setting. It is one of the longest and most complex scores in modern film.
Get goosebumps as elves, dwarves, sorcerers and trolls come to life on screen: one of the most successful film adaptations in cinematic history is now an unforgettable multimedia concert experience!
