Turkish Delight

Throughout 2010 Turkish Cinema enjoyed success at film festivals worldwide. Starting today for two weeks the 16th London Turkish Film Festival (LTFF) is bringing many of these films to London and, as the original home of the LTFF, the Rio Cinema is playing host to seven days of them. Highlights include a rare chance to see EGG and MILK, the first two parts of Semih Kaplanoglu's trilogy. See LTFF for more details.

So break out your best dance moves and join him and his special guests for an unparalleled night of bass-related mayhem. Free b4 11

Farm Town

Have you ever imagined how much food one could actually grow in a shop? Well that’s what Something & Son are finding out by converting 20 Dalston Lane, a derelict shop into London's first urban farming shop. If you want to see a micro fish farm or a high tech indoor allotment, or if you just fancy yourself as an urban volunteer farmer, grace them with your farming presence at 1pm.

Saturday 1pm, 20 Dalston Lane, E1

Belgians Like Beer

Come and meet the Belgian community during their annual party. They will be drinking beer from as early as 8pm, as the trendy beer Vedett will sponsor their happy hour. They have managed to convince a Belgian DJ crossing the channel and you could even win Eurostar tickets to go to Belgium. Vive la Belgique!

Saturday 8pm, The 2nd Floor Café, Netil House, E8

The Seeds Of Creation

For a taste of North Africa in East London, look no further than Charlie Wright’s International tonight, where Seddik Zabiri will be playing with his ‘multi-faith, multi culture’ band The Seeds of Creation, bringing live world music to the Hoxton stage in the form of an accessible and fun jam session. Well worth a visit. £3
Sunday 8pm, Charlie Wright’s International, N1

Detroit Lives

Detroit was once the fourth-largest metropolis in America. Today, the young people of the Motor City are making it their own DIY paradise where rules are second to passion and creativity. They are creating the new Detroit on their own terms, against real adversity. Watch Palladium Boot's inspiring video about Detroit.
