The English Launderette
'Rekindled forgotten food classics staged in a launderette, where else?'  Where else indeed – it could only be Shoreditch.  From Saturday, for nine days only, the best of British from the 60s will be served as part of a six-course meal with an unlikely foodie theme.  Indulge in a laundrette aperitif from the 'coin op' cocktail bar, and a little something from the Lilli Vanilli dessert trolley.  Booking essential, tickets £49, 1st – 10th Oct
English Laundrette, 18 Hewitt Street, Shoreditch, EC2A
Russian Tornado
The Russian Bar often brings us little gems and tonight, Melbourne-born Tornado Wallace, AKA producer Lewie Day, headlines with his smooth disco-meets-house sound.   Perfect for a warm Indian summer evening, this music makes you feel like you could be sipping cocktails by a pool.  Support comes from Londoner Michael Wells, Natalie Coleman and Cosmic Truth.
Friday 9pm-4.30am, Russian Bar, Haggerston, E2
Rock The Belles
The genre defying monthly celebration of the girls making their mark in music is back with a set from Dj Nikki. Including complimentary manicures courtesy of nail boutique du jour Wah Nails, giveaways from Trapstar clothing and lots more. Rock The Belles has gained some incredible press over past months with pick of the week in The Guardian Guide in May and top 5 Critics Choice in Time Out twice.
Friday 9pm, East Village, Great Eastern Street, EC2A
White Cube
Located sap bang in the centre of Shoreditch, in the bustling, trendy Hoxton Square is White Cube. An uber cool gallery space that is home to some wonderful exhibitions. The Elad Lassery exhibition is currently running; known for his work in film and photography that combines intricate surfaces with an investigation into the nature of perception and the present-day image, Lassry has become one of the most celebrated young artists working today. Until 12th Nov
White Cube, 48 Hoxton Sq, London N1
Happy Kitchen
Fancy brightening up your day and diet...pop along to the Happy Kitchen, tucked away next to London Fields train station under the arches. A slice of goodness will be waiting for you there...with a menu that is not only gluten free, but wheat, dairy and sugar! Priding themselves on being organic, seasonal and local. The cakes are delightful and the atmosphere is great...for an indulgent yummie yet health conscious treat, it's the perfect place.
Happy Kitchen, London Fields, Hackney E8
The Evolution Of Music
The video The Evolution of Music - Statistics is an interesting short piece about the history of modern music. You'll learn for example that the first Glastonbury in 1970 only cost £1 to attend, and this included a complimentary bottle of milk. It's a well done little movie. Watch
Ron's Favourite Song
I love faded glory. 40's Hollywood, seaside towns in winter and old fairgrounds. A sense of beauty hidden beneath the dirt. Video Games by Lana Del Rey is both faded and glorious. Enjoy.
